Yes, that's the cry my loyal Eagles fans and I have shouted after going 1-0 for several of the past NFL seasons.
Yesterday's solid 24-10 thumping of the Houston Texans won't go into the record books as one of the best franchise victories, but I'll take a solid win on the road to start the season most any time. Donovan McNabb threw for >300 yards, they ran the ball more, and Donte Stallworth looks like a pretty good pick-up after jettisoning T.O and the not-as-talented, but still unlikeable Todd Pinkston.
The Vikings could do the Eagles a favor and beat the Redskins this evening, giving the Birdz a one game lead on the division after one week — can't ask for much more than that.
Now this should all be tempered against the fact that this WAS the Texans, definitely an NFL bottom-feeder, and that I think we'll get a much better picture of how good this team is when they host the Giants next week in the home opener.
