A few weeks ago, Ross started the Friday Drabble – a drabble being a very short story of exactly 100 words. Feel free to join in and write your own 100 word stories on Fridays, and tag them with “friday drabble”. Link to them in the comments here, or on Twitter with the hashtag #fridaydrabble. Go on, give it a try.
Hangover
“Oh man,” he croaked as he held his throbbing head in his hands. He’d really over-indulged last night and this morning he was paying the price.
He tottered to her bathroom and drank some water. Hazily, he recalled the red-haired girl’s flirting. He hadn’t been looking for anything last night, but when she started buying shots, he just gave into those old familiar impulses.
Back in her room, he looked down at her. What was left of her. No one had seen them leave together, and he wasn’t worried that he’d left any DNA behind.
Well, human DNA at least.
Yowza. I love this one.
Wow, love the "leave it to the imagination" approach. This just screams sequel, Steve!
great story and great idea. Friday Drabble is awesome.
I've got goosebumps!
Steve, this is awesome! And we have some kind of subconscious mental connection – my drabble this week also has a more-than-passing reference to the non-human amongst us…
Oooooh… creepy!
I was told by The Beloved that I had to make the next one a happy story about puppies.
Thanks Skoolie!
Thanks Emmi — I'm not sure I want to stay in this thing's head!
Thanks Ross! I think guy probably gave the girl a false name though… :)
Thanks Hapa! Maybe stay away from The Kraken tonight, just to be safe… :)
Terrific! I love murder/mayhem books so your drabble fits right in there. I love the suspense. You made me really think at the end.
Grooooosssssss!
Just kidding. I loved it. It read like a mini-Twilight Zone episode.
You weren't like this before the beard.
Yikes!
