Friday Drabble: Foggy

Foggy

She loved foggy mornings!

Unleashed, she kicked up a great cloud of damp, red dust from the trail and veered into the brush. The fog held all the morning’s scents in a delicious embrace.  Plants and birds and bunnies – oh, she could smell the bunnies!  She raced along tiny paths she knew by heart, grazed by a gauntlet of dewy sage branches.  The man plodded behind her and she ran on.  Eventually, they finished their hilltop circuit.

“Look at you, pup…”

What? Me?

Getting home, he went right to the backyard and unraveled the hose.  What?!?!?  A BATH?!??!

She hated foggy mornings.

  1. I really love this short because my beagles growing up would run like the wind when it was bath time (which happened often) and then once they were in the water and cleaned they loved it. They would pounce on top of me all tongues and ears and wagging tails and a bunch of giggles from me.

  2. What a cute face! I found your blog through some mutual friends and thought I’d stop by. My husband and I have two labs and love going hiking with us in the woods. I don’t think they feel satisfied until they’re dirty.
