He sighed and let the curtain slip, returning to his chore. Her again. It seemed she slowly walked that dog past his house two, three, four times a day! Somehow, they’d realized that he knew.
He’d taken himself off the grid when he started seeing them from behind the counter in the minimart. No mobile phone. No computer. Rode his bike – they could track your car. Paid with cash. It’d kept him safe.
Until now. He paused and wondered how long until they moved on him? He finished cleaning his 9 mm. Guess he’d have to move on them first.

I like the paranoia in it versus the fugitive-running-from-the-law-while-cops-hone-in-on-him idea. Somehow, it’s more alluring that way.
