Brother? Hermano means brother?

Big weekend here at The Aerie this weekend – my older brother from New Jersey (well, actually, he’s my only brother – its not like I have another brother stashed somewhere else…) is coming to visit for several days.  The first family visit to the new house!

This should be interesting; I don’t think I’ve spent 4 consecutive days with my brother since I was 16.  I’m not exactly sure what we’re going to end up doing… maybe go to the Midway museum, probably watch the Phils in their playoff series with the Rockies, maybe take a drive out to the desert.  Eat a lot.

I’m sure part of it will be spent moving a finger within a half-inch of the other and saying “I’m not touching you…I’m not touching you…

So if I’m scarce here on vox for the next several days, that’s probably will be what’s going on.

Adios!

  1. Aw, how fun! I think it's interesting how my relationship with my (only) brother is developing now that we're both "adults" and we live near each other again (he's here in Utah, too). When I lived away from him I think I just kept viewing him as the little 17 year old he was when I moved away from home, now that he's 27 an a grown up it's like a whole new person! And he's fun! :)

  2. Have fun! If I had to spend four consecutive days with my brother…well, I don't think it would go well. The only thing we have in common is a love of Scrubs, and you can only watch so many hours of TV before your brain turns to mush.

  3. Have fun reminiscing with your brother. I love watching my adult sons, when they get together, I can just see the love they have for each other and the comradery they have together is awesome.

  5. Have fun! We'll miss you around here but I'm sure you'll be having a good time. You know, at first I thought, really? You haven't spent 4 consecutive days with your brother since you both lived at home? But now that I think about it, I don't think I have either. And we live a lot closer to each other than you do to your brother. Hmm.

  7. Don't forget to spend a little time parroting everything he says too.
    Stop copying me.

    I SAID, STOP IT!

Hope you have a great time with your brother.

  8. Weird, our lives seem to be paralleling lately. Friday morning, I'm off to visit my one and only brother all by myself. It'll probably be the 1st time we've ever had more than a few hours alone together. He recently completed drug rehab and is in sober housing while waiting on some legal issues. He's probably going to do some time (hopefully not more than a year). Anyway, after 10 years, I finally have my brother "back" so we're going to bond for the weekend. :)

  9. Hahaha I'm sure my sister and I will be doing that "I'm not touching you" thing even when we're two toothless old fogeys. Hopefully we'll get on better then than we do now! Have fun with your brother, Steve!

  11. erin-dot-erin — I'm glad you got the AD reference — I'd looked on YouTube for a video clip of one of those great scenes with Gob, and it looks like 20th Century Fox had them all removed. Phooey!
